This is a FULL TUTORIAL on making your mic sound professional using the (new for 2020) Voicemeeter Potato software. Want to get started straight away? check out the links at the bottom of this description!
You might have spent a fortune on a mic and still not be getting the kind of quality that you wanted from it. In fact, a lot of people have asked me in the past, how I get my mic to sound the way it does.
Luckily for you, it only takes a free piece of software and a little time to set things up. In this MTS Tuts tutorial, I'm going over how to set up Voicemeeter Potato (the new version of Voicemeeter Banana) to get some great results from your mic.
In the demo, I'm using a Blue Yeti but this same process works with virtually any mic. In fact, before I had the Yeti, I had a Blue Snowball which is a much cheaper alternative. With Voicemeeter, you can push your microphones just that little bit extra in order to get some great results for your sound.

If you've dreamed of getting better recordings for your videos then sound is a great place to start. Many people will listen to a video when the picture quality is bad but the one thing almost guaranteed to turn people away is having bad audio. It's amazing the difference that good audio makes.
If you're looking for a new microphone then you have to be a little careful about what you get. Everyone thinks they'll get something good by getting something cheap... it'll be a bargain... it won't. Ultimately, you'll be unimpressed with the quality of the microphone and you'll try another, and another, and eventually spend more on mics than it would have cost to get a new one to begin with.
So, if you're in the market for something new, check out mics from Rode, Audio Technica and Blue. You won't go wrong with them, even if they all need a little extra tweaking to get the best out of them... and that's where Voicemeeter comes in. A good pairing of mic and software will make all the difference with your videos and, ultimately, give you much more flexibility than you currently have.
